Miilé Spa at Excellence Playa Mujeres - April 2008

The spa is located on an island in the middle of a pool. Tall, white billowy sheers flow out from the two story structure. You can see the pools and a sparkling white lobby from the bridge over to the spa.

I walked over the bridge into the lobby of the Miile Spa and couldn't wait to start my treatment. I was greeted warmly by the staff and checked in for my massage appointment an hour before my scheduled service.

This spa has the most amazing Marine Wellness Circuit which takes 45 minutes prior to your service. In our bathing suits, we proceeded to go through nine stations including sauna, steam room, hot and cold plunge pools and several hydrotherapy positions. We were guided through the stations and given iced towels after 5 minutes in the sauna, hot towels wrapped around us after a cool plunge pool, and great scented towels in the steam room. After the lovely water circuit, we were led upstairs to a relaxation and meditation room before our service. This circular room had about 12 chaise lounges, soft music, candles and more of the long billowy curtains.

I had a Excellence Massage which was a relaxing and energizing combination of Shiatsu, Reflexology, Lomi lomi and Swedish massages. The massage therapist spoke excellent English and I was able to communicate my wishes to her easily. She was very well trained and gave me an excellent massage.
